Round Table Provides Food for Thought!
Round Table Provides Food for Thought!

TCWA hosted a Tourism Industry Round Table breakfast at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre on Tuesday 9th March with special guest Hon. Brendon Grylls MLA Minister for Regional Development, Lands and Leader of the Nationals WA.

The forum, which was attended by some 40 TCWA Gold, Silver and Industry members, heard the Minister express his view on the tourism industry in WA and his answers to specific questions put to him by members in attendance.

The Minister was forthright in expressing his opinions that the tourism industry needed to speak with one voice to get issues to the forefront of the Government's agenda.

Minister Grylls also addressed specific issues including:

  • The barriers to the development of tourism accommodation in WA;
  • The review of the intrastate air services in WA;
  • Deregulation of retail shopping hours in Perth.

In thanking the Minister for his attendance at the Forum, TCWA President Paul King urged the Government to be proactive rather than reactive on tourism issues, which the Minister acknowledged.
